AN UPDATE ON ESP’S FUTURE

We’re saddened to say that the call for European Short Pitch 2027 is now on hold. Following the outcome of the Creative Europe MEDIA funding process, ESP did not receive the support it was hoping for. Like much of the industry right now, we are facing a genuinely uncertain moment.

Since 2007, ESP has accompanied over 566 filmmakers. Together with our tutors and our partners, we are taking the time to properly rethink what ESP can look like next, and we are exploring smaller, more focused activities for 2027.

This is exactly why we are reaching out to you today. Whether you’ve been a participant, a mentor, a partner, or a supporter, you’ve shaped what ESP is today.

And specifically, if you’re an ESP alum, we want to know what this programme meant for your project, your career, and your network. If you feel like sharing what ESP gave you, whether that is a connection, a festival premiere, a shift in how you approached your project, or the workshops themselves, we would love for you to post about it in your own words.

And if you have ideas for what ESP could or should look like going forward, we are genuinely open. Reply to this email, drop us a line, tell us what you'd want to see. This transition is as much about listening as it is about rebuilding.

Thank you.
